personal statement

Ever since I can remember I have always had a flare for visual language and learning to express that by using multiple mediums such as makeup, photography and cinematography. This process has taught me a lot about myself and the message I want to put out into the world. I have a natural aptitude to come up with creative ideas and being determind to translate those ideas into reality. I’m also very willing to take on any role that is assigned to me as I’m a quick learner and enjoy picking up and developing new skills. Working within a team is something that I enjoy as I have good social and communication skills and find it easy to get along with people from different cultural backgrounds since I’ve grown up in several international environments. I’m also able to take on a project on my own and deliver an end product within an agreed time frame.

WORK EXPERIENCE

- Internship: CNN (London, UK)  June 2015
A four-week internship at CNN’s commercial production company, Turner Commercial Productions. During this internship I did research and contributed to the company’s talent list. I edited a segment of a documentary for Qatar Airways. I also took on many tasks such as making coffee and tea as well as fetching things and running errands for the staff. This experience taught me what it takes to commit to a nine to five job and work in a very professional setting.

- Production Assistant: 77Media (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia)  June 2013
At 77Media I took on a variety of production roles. I assisted the director on location during video shoots, submitted ideas, managed casting for a promotional video, participated in script development and contributed to video editing. This experience taught me how to be on my toes and work quickly and efficiently within a team.
